I teach interdisciplinary courses in ocean, climate, weather, and water science that connect physical processes with real-world environmental challenges. My teaching emphasizes scientific literacy, data analysis, critical thinking, and the use of observations, models, and visual tools to understand how Earth’s water, atmosphere, and climate systems work together.

GEO/SOC 103 – Thirsty Society: An Interdisciplinary Examination of Water

This course explores water as a global sustainability issue, including climate regulation, food and agriculture, flooding and drought, public health, and water access.

GEO 211 – Earth’s Dynamic Weather

Students learn how weather and climate develop, how severe weather forms, and how we analyze weather and climate data across scales.

GEO 206 – Oceans, Climate & Environment

This course examines ocean–atmosphere interactions, ocean circulation, the carbon cycle, marine ecosystems, and human impacts such as pollution and climate change.

This course covers climate variability, climate models, natural and human-driven climate change, and the impacts of climate change on society.
